So, you watched a bunch of videos on youtube trying to figure out the best products to make your skin glow. You go to Sephora and you're bombarded with a plethora of products and you don't know where to start. Well, that's where we come in. Let's simplify that list, sis! You want to keep things as simple as possible.
Step 1: Cleanser
Micellar Water or an Oil Cleanser is great for removing build up on your skin from make up and other products used throughout the day.
Be sure to follow up with a cleanser that contains a gentle/mild cleansing agent.
Step 2: Tone
Using a toner helps to pick up whatever your traces of debris your cleanser may have left behind. It also helps to balance the pH of your skin and tighten the pores. Some toners even include humectants so they help to bind moisture to the skin.
Step 3: Serums/treatments
This is where you get to tackle all of the skincare concerns you may have. Want glowing skin, use a serum that contains vitamin C. Want to tackle hyperpigmentation, use a serum that contains glycolic acid. It's all about preference . If you have acne and have medicated ointments this would be the time to apply them as well.
Step 4: Eye Cream
No one wants to wake up fully refreshed and look tired. Eye creams are great to help draw in moisture and regenerate the skin cells around the eyes that play a major part in its elasticity.
Step 5: Moisturize
During the day apply a light waterbed moisturizer. This will help the skin to stay hydrated throughout the day. At night you may want to use a moisturizer of a thicker consistency as it helps with the skins ability to hold moisture as you get older. If you're prone to acne use a moisturizer that is light and oil free!
Step 6: Sunscreen
Black may not crack but it can definitely be damaged by the sun. Take care of your melanin sis and protect your skin with SPF on the daily!
P.S. remember to exfoliate 1-2 times a week to get rid of dead skin cells that build up on your face.
Now, that we've made it simple go grab your essentials and Gleaux on!
